Falcon 4.0 News
10-01-2003 - In an effort to improve Falcon 4.0, Benchmarksims.com has retained an agreement with G2Interactive Inc., to modify the Falcon 4.0 source code and to provide a free of charge, free to download executable to the community.Major contributors to Falcon include the RP Group, Eteam, the Unified Team, and Free Falcon. We are VERY sensitive to the work done by these groups, and as such, have gone through great pains to maintain the integrity of that work. We would also like to thank the various community members that helped with the initial testing. That said, we submit to you, the community, a modified SP3 executable, that we humbly feel incorporates some of the graphical enhancements and fixes that we have all been hoping for. However, please note that this is a beta release, and as such, there may very well be bugs, including incompatabilities with some graphics cards. Therefore, PLEASE!! report all bugs and send your crashlogs to f4@benchmarksims.com.We will be working these issues out, and adding new features and fixes on a daily basis, and you can therefore expect regular releases from us. Download this patch by clicking here .

04-07-2003 - SimHQ's Andy Bush and Leon "Badboy" Smith have put together a guide on how to get your bombs on target in Strike Fighters:Project One. Heres a short quote: Every weapon that is dropped or fired from a plane is affected by gravity. When the weapon is released, it moves both forward and down. Forward due to the velocity of the releasing aircraft and possibly, in the case of rockets and bullets, due to their own propulsion. And then down due to gravity…how much "down" is a function of the time from release to impact. Its an interesting read, even if you dont fly SFP1.You can read nmore by Clicking here to read further...
