Site Update
12-24-00
:
I want to wish all our users and visitors a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I would also like to take a few minutes to reflect on the major changes that have occurred at VNFAWING. The online squadrons have all disbanded but development continues on the future of FA! Work conitues with a solid development team and specific work has begun on cracking into new FA shapes. But this news will be for next year, as the only specific news I have on the VNFAWING website is to say that it has successfully migrated to a file storage archive.
11-30-00
:
Added sub forums for Cockpit Development, Terrain Development, in addition to the main FAF Folder for filght model and texture work. Iron Eagle;s cockpit work has lead to my additional work on the forum to develop all new cockpits for FAF. Zepphyr from the FARC has kindly provided me a listing of necessary files for adding new cockpits to FAF in addition to those in the original FA sim.
10-31-00
:
Posted test librares and link pages to the old tripod site for developers to easily download thier sub libraries amongst the dev team for FAF. Began work on online articles about Russian Integrated AIr Defense Systems (IDS) and how they work. posted them to the tripod site for storage.
10-10-00
:
Added CAG's Corner for off topic discussions and aviation news, etc. at the VNFAWING Comm Center board on ezboard. Began to add sub forums for furher research and development for FAF. Changed the forum layout and added background imagery as well as texture changes. Enabled user signatures and avatar use as well as a running aviation news update to hourly update the forum with current aviation news from around the world.
09-30-00
:
To avoid a growing conflict with the webmaster of Xxxxlabs, the vnfawing.com site has been voluntarly pulled down from the web for redesign. The benefit of this is that the new website will be more streamlined, more user friendly, and faster to access for all users. The graphical redesign is in full swing with all graphics being designed from scratch by CAG Hotshot, to avoid this problem ever occuring ever again in the future. The site is expected to be active again before the end of the year.
08-31-00
:
I have added additional sub forums on the ezboard vnfacommcenter for Janes JF-18 and Flacon 4 development in addition to the development work for FA Futures (FAF). Development continues though support of the VNFAWING Flight Simuation Development Team.
07-31-00
:
I have reestablished the VNFAW1 tripod name striclty for file storage in relation to our development work for FA Futures and otehr flight simuations. The vnfacommcneter is now strictly a flight simulation support center board.
06-11-00
:
The situation with tripod has just come to a head. Due to theircorrupted server they have not been able to maitain a backup of effected sites and this means that the main VNFAWING Tripod site isnow permently lost as they are going todo a somplete wipe of the corrupted storage. THis means that all the hard work on the vnfawing site is now permently lost. As a result I have officially, this day, disbanded the entire airwing. VNFAWING as an online airwing of squadrons no longer exists.
05-15-00
:
Tripod servers are still corrupted. Its proved impossible to continue to run the aquadron activities without access to the main site. Also I cant get forwarding to any new site from the existing address due to these errors. Pilot activities have dropped to near zero and all campaign and ladder activities have also slowed. If this situation can not be cleared up I will most likely disband the Airwing.
04-21-00
:
Tripod is continuing to have server problems. The latest error is now a corrupted interface to edit the main page. I have not been able to edit the main page since the 17th and I have emailed tech support over 25 times iwthout a single response. I have never seen such lack of professionalism or utter stupidity in my life as I have with tripod. Once I regain access I will move teh entire site off their servers, but until then the main pages will go unedited.
04-16-00
:
Tripod servers have been down for 6 days this week, and the resultant lack of access to the vnfawing site has casued 4 more of the airwings pilots to retire. In addition, Tripod has removed the capability to crosslink images to multiple tripod sites, thus the interactivity between the seperate vnfawing tripod sites is now broken. This is leading to a major downsizing and of the entire site and consoliation to fewer sites.
04-09-00
:
Pilot availability continues to decline at VNFWING I have consolidated all the rosters to one page. The online 714 VFTS FA ladder pages that vnfawing was hosting has been shut down and the pages moved to the archives. However the VNFAWING ladders have kept busy with many challenges and additional pilot pages created. A new Campaign for VNFA-3, based on the VNFAWING Flaklands/Malvinas library has been created with an additional 5 webpages of history and rules going online to supprt it.
04-02-00
:
The squadrons at VNFWING have been suffering many transient pilots of late, with dramatic changes in the active pilot roster and a growing number in the retired archive as online gamers are moving to the first person simulators at a growing rate. The major changes in the roster pages have reflected this. VNFAW-4, the EAW squadron has been disbanded as the popularity of that sim continues to diminish and the 20 supporting webpages have been moved to the archive section.
03-31-00
:
Added a guestbook link to the site header banner. The Guestbook has been suffering some downtime lately. Seems that the host provider of the service is suffering server failures and has been for the last 30 days. If it doesnt clear up I will etiher remove the feature from the website or find a more reliable host for it.
03-15-00
:
A new Forum section on the VNFAWING Comm Center has beeen setup to support our FA Futures project. You can stop in to see posts on our progress and to visit our airwing, which has grown to include an FA Squadron, an EAW Squadron, a EAW Squadron, and a Falcon 4.0 Squadron with all new Ready Room pages.
02-27-00
:
Posted an interview article for Sim-News website about the FA Futures project and what it hopes to gain for the flight sim community. The article will remain on the site in the archives section once it has run on Sim-News.
02-17-00
:
Organized volunteers to help with the project development outline for the FA Futures libraries. The project guidelines and goals are now listed on the site. Included in this is the overall purpose of FA Futures and what will be accomplished in its development. These pages are in the development section of the website.
01-22-00
:
Setup a seperate archive for files for the developers of FA Futures to begin work and to share file data. The VNFAWING Flight Sim Development Group is officially formed. Trademarked the VNFAWING ™ name and opened an official corporate entity for flight sim development.
01-12-00
:
VNFAWING has added a new JF-18 Squadron to the Airwing. VNFA-2 is now the new Janes Super Hornet Squadron as the EAW Squadron is now VNFA-4, with VNFA-1 flying Falcon 4 and VNFA-3 flying FA with many members from Argentina flying Flanker's, Blinds's & Tango's South American Airforces Libraries.
01-01-00
:
New Year resolution is to expand the website to support our new flight simulation upgrades for FA and for Falcon 4. To increase the download pages to house more archives of the upgraded files.
