Date
Site Update
12-31-98
:
With the new stability of the Falcon 4.0 simulation, VNFAWING adds a third online squadron to fly this new exciting simulation. VNFA-1,VNFA-2, and VNFA-3 all now have seperate squadron pages with seperate roster pages. The VNT-1 Site is expanded to a 5th tripod site to allow it to grow to (VNT-1) support training for Falcon 4.0. Though not a naval sim, Falcon 4.0 does offer unparalled realism and thus has caught the eye of many of the VNFAWING Airwing pilots.
12-24-98
:
I want to wish all our users and visitors a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! I expect great things in 1999 for all of us here at VNFAWING!!

:
VNFAWING Website adds 5 new pages in support of the various online ladders now supported through the site. Over 100 online pilots use the competition ladders to battle each other head to head in online duels. A complete scores page and user history page for each of the ladders has been established to support the competition ladder.

VNFAWING becomes allies with VF-84 Airwing and begins dual training and coop flights with VNFA_Hotshot and VNFA_Tango working together on test libraries for both airwings to use for training. The VNFAWING Website expands further to over 200 online pages with additional training guides and our own challenge form designed by CAG for use on the website for ladder challenges and scores. VNFAWING Adds the VNFAcommcenter messageboard for squadron use for all levels of members.
10-15-98
:
VNFA_Tango releases 4 new articles on weapons use in FA for publishing on the VNFAWING Website. The Tripod VNFAWING Site continues to grow as VNFAWING sets up its own FA competition ladder and begins to host the FA 714 Ladder on a third Tripod Site tied into the main VNFAWING website. The full VNFAWING website now carries across four Tripod sites (due to storage limitations of each site) VNFA1, VNFA2, VNFAWING, and FA714Ladder Tripod Addresses. Migration across each site is transparent to all users.
09-30-98
:
VNFAWING continues to give a good showing at the 714 VFTS FA ladder as CAG gains the top spot with a string of 20 continuous wins over other ladder pilots. CAG Holds the Topgun Site with an undefeated record and gets set to defend his position in the 'comfy chair'. Of equal importance VNFAWING website continues to grow as the roster page is increased to 100 active pilots in 2 online squadrons and 1 training squadron. VNFA looks to expand to the much superior Tripod Free Servers and abandons its original Netscape Site Central site to use only as a file archive. The move involved a major redesign as Hotshot's skills grow in web development and implements framesets for the first time at VNFA.

:
After extensive input from VNFA_MudBug and much online/offline testing, VNFA has standardized on 714VFTS realism library set for all future mission and coop use for the squadron. This new library has meant that additional training pages were established on the website to support training our current members to understand how the new library functions and what major changes it has brought to the simulation.
07-02-98
:
VNFA has gone though a major growth spurt with upwards of 20 new members coming into the squadron from the USVN after that group runs into problems with follow through on mission execution. Amongst these new members is now VNFA_MudBug & VNFA_2Xtreme, both energetic and strong members of the growing VNFA Squadron. Membership now approaches 50 active members.
