I'm thinking beyond Linebacker II. When Khmer Rouge took our sailors hostage in 1975, Marines were sent in to Cambodian island by HH-53's.
Several 53's were shot down by dirt-bag Cambodians. Air Force A-7's sent
in to strike Khmer Rouge, with F-4 dropping tear gas on Cambodian boats.
Pretty sure the SLUF dropped last of iron of "official" S.E. Asian campaign.

Very good guess indeed, but that combat was not within the confines of the Vietnam War...
Still excellent investigation of the use of these aircraft within SEA...
However, I am not waying your choice of aircraft is incorrect...
OR correct either!! 
Only time will tell!
But again its great to see our visitors contributing to the polls like this!!

I just voted Navy (A6) because they didn't need an airbase on the mainland. This does not rule out the B52 of course, but Im just guessing A6.

Ok the answer is... The A-7!!
(I want to thank Magnum_VF for this data, since I misplaced the data before I answered the post...)
Maj. John J. Hoskins and Capt. Lonnie O. Ratley, flying LTV A-7D Corsair IIs, make the last raids of war in Southeast Asia when they attack targets near Phnom Penh late in the afternoon.
