| Has to be New York. The 101st Airborne Division pathfinders were the first on the ground in Normandy during D-Day. They hit the ground just after midnight, and the commander of the path finders was Captain Frank Lillyman and he was the lead jumper from the lead plane and was the first man on the ground on June 6th. He landed at 12:15 AM, June 6th, 1944. He is from Syracuse, New York. |
