BTW was sifting through some imagery here on the ole puter the other night and came across those pics from the Philippines of a particular aircraft that had been bulldozed in large numbers into holes in the ground after the war, made me sad all over again _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

Considering it's popularity vs only 3 flying examples in the world? Jillions. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard

I vote for the A-26. It stopped flying in Vietnam when the airframes wore out and were withdrawn from combat.

I think it is the B-25 as they produced a crap load of them. How about it cag, has the poll run long enough so you can tell us which aircraft it is? _________________ Asst Forum Admin

Oops, I forgot to end this! LMAO!!!
The answer is the B-25, which had more units produced then any other twin engined aircraft in WWII...
Good guess there Eaglesbrew!
Production numbers went along these lines...
B-25 9884
C-47 9856 (this does not include DC-3 production, as these were not C-47s)
P-38 9470
B-26 5226
A-26 2052
The trick part of this poll is that if DC-3 production was included in C-47 numbers then it would have won the poll as the total of DC-3/C-47 production was 10,665 but I clearly asked what WWII Produced US Aircraft and DC-3s were not produced as C-47s, they were produced as civilian DC-3s and converted to C-47s... _________________ CAG Hotshot

You could also have worded it to include the Soviet produced variants of the DC-3/C-47. _________________ FAF/FA-2 FM Wizard
