The Heinemann reference was being applied to all the Douglass entrants, not just the Skyray ( jeeze I would have loved to walk around in that guys brain for a while ).
Some very cool reads about one of the more amazing aircraft to fly off a carrier deck. A nearly unstable design with high climb rate, very high agility, one pilot calling it the best plane since the Spitfire! Even held the speed record for five years!
