Post subject: Final A-10A/C shape and skin... Reply with quote
I completed the final work on the A-10...

1. Reshaped the entire nose to better match the real A-10.
2. Expanded the entire starboard side of the aircraft, as it was off 1 bit from center (narrower on the 'passenger side' - the original shape had no center point, as it was off by 1 bit in width in ever polygon on the right side of the shape (standing from behind)
3. Created and shaped a new canopy as the original shape had no canopy top. Fixing the shape's centerline helped this dramatically.
4. Removed the default roundel polygons and fixed the 'mirroring' on the wing panels so the embedded Airfarce markings show properly
5. Corrected the nose skin layout so the teeth 'wrap around' from side to side (Yes Kap I know the tail has the wrong markings for teeth, but I just love the teeth so I took a bit of "artistic expression' and kept them! lol!)
6. Added the false canopy to the lower fuselage and made it the same color as the new canopy.

Yea I know... That was left over from the original canopy. Its long gone already but thanks for the sharp eyes!

See any other improvements needed? I was thinking of adding more detail to the skin where the laser sensor attaches to the fuselage (under the cockpit)

and changing the color of the sensor itself to a darker color like below...

Or just darken the glas nose of it like this image below...

And also do the skin with the warthog type teeth as well...

Made some changes to the nose cannon (expanded it horizontally to have the same width it does veritcally) and darkened the front of the cannon housing to simulate gun powder burns from it being fired. I also plan on adding a textured polygon to the front of this housing so you can see the face of the cannon from head on...

Also darkened the laser targetting pod...

Also added a better texture to the engine fan blades for the turbofans...

And yes they are staill animated so they spin! Smile

Great job this time too, CAG - I too would like you can add the changes you've proposed, that to the cannon as first.

I have to move the entire cannon over since only the single barrel to the left being fired should be on the centerline...

What a beauty! Were you able to add a front to the nose cannon?
